Ultra secure – what does this mean?
We use the best of physical and digital security and the strictest procedures – military standard or better – for managing the computers which hold your information.
The myTsafe service is delivered out of The Bunker – www.thebunker.net – one of the world’s most secure data centres.
All The Bunker’s security – Digital, Physical & Human – is of such a high quality that they rightly proclaim their system as ‘Ultra Secure’ as well as ‘Ultra Available’. Their client list is a roll call of top organisations who need both security and 24/7/365 service and availability.
Digital security.
One can do no better than quote their approach: “We are fiercely dedicated to security. We apply The Bunker Protocol™ to everything we do. It’s proprietary and unique to Bunker-built systems. It’s been developed as a result of our deep experience in delivering secure application environments, our contributions to the internet security industry, and our military heritage.”
And their Management includes Ben Laurie as Director of Security, who is acknowledged as one of the foremost computer security experts in the world. He is the creator of Apache-SSL – the web’s de-facto secure web server application, and a core team member of Open SSL – the world’s most widely used cryptographic library.
Physical Security
The Bunker is an ex-MOD command and control centre, built by the UK government to protect people and technology from nuclear attacks. It sits 30m beneath the ground in a perimeter fenced, 18 acre site.
It has three metre thick concrete walls, solid steel doors that weigh several tonnes, and provides military grade EMP and tempest shielding. It is protected by a 24-hour sentry and MOD-trained guard dogs, CCTV and a series of sophisticated access controls.
Human Security
The Human dimension is also controlled to a very high degree; all staff undergo intensive security screening carried out by an approved specialist company. The Bunker has achieved ISO 27001 status, the internationally recognised standard which encompasses both the physical and logical aspects of information security.
The myTsafe software designers and creators do not have direct access to the myTsafe servers. This is only granted to technicians at The Bunker whose task it is to maintain the operation and operating systems of the firewall and application servers. It adds yet a further layer of security.
